Bold and In-Your-Face Color Schemes

“Subtle” simply does not exist in the vocabulary of another of this year’s trends. F/W 2018 does not have a care in the world for discreet and monotone color schemes in terms of rebranding. Unlikely color pairings take a brand out of its comfort zone, while simultaneously exhibiting openness to experimentation and brand familiarity.

Just take a look at how some popular brands like Spotify, Dropbox and eBay successfully executed their rebranding by busting out of their signature styles and colors.

This season, we're dialing back three decades when excessive styling and brash colors were all the rage.

As reported in Fashion Snoops, "Gradient dyes which were so prominent in the 80s enhances the retro future aesthetic seen in Flash. There is a luminosity which adds vigor and excitement to an ombre dye, which is dramatized with dimensional geometric shapings and pixel placements." &

Unconventional Color Palette

Risk in terms of adopting new colors is also another approach that brands love to do this season. Swiping an entire palette clean for a new one is not completely necessary, but only infusing a couple unexpected colors. Take sports news magazine Bleacher Report as a great example. Why do brands do this, you ask? Simply to grab your attention and break away from the traditional!

A run-of-the-mill stock photo is just not going to cut it this F/W 2018. To set your brand apart, custom illustrations that are starting to pop up this season will still make big splashes all the way into the next year. MailChimp and Slack were the first to quickly jump on the trend and tap into this underused asset.
